The Bernedoodle
Our Bernedoodles are the most zen creatures we’ve ever met. Far more widely chosen for therapy needs ranging from balance & mobility sturdiness to anxiety-based disorders, our Bernedoodles ALWAYS impress us with their calm and gentle spirits, their intuitive intelligence, and their keen ability to know exactly what their human needs. Sweet, silly, and smart are our 3 favorite descriptions. They are class clowns when the need arises, they are snuggly and sweet when you need a hug, and they are smart as a whip. I often tell people if they had thumbs, they would definitely be pickpockets because they know just how to inch their way in slowly, and before you know it, you’re covered in a Bernedoodle blanket. That deep sigh lets you know they are home with you & their soul is happy. Their eyes smile as much as their mouth does, and that full-body tail wag is nothing short of gleeful when it’s directed at you.
Our bernedoodles tend to love water, and love exploring, and their ideal family would be open to outdoor adventures, open to a beach day here & there, and hopefully some tumbling in the grass. We typically find Bernedoodles, in all our sizes, to be superior family companions, and excel in dynamics with even very young children.
The generation of Bernedoodle you prefer depends on a few of your life factors. Our F1 Bernedoodles are often bigger, ranging anywhere from 55-80 lbs. Their hair type is more typically a loose curl/beach waves and has more typically an 8-10 week grooming schedule. There is slightly more shedding in this generation (after all, they are 50% wooly mammoth!) and it’s not uncommon to have a fur ball once a week in the corner or under the couch.
The F1b Generation has a much larger size variety (30lbs-80lbs, depending on the pairing) and far less shedding if any at all. Their coat type tends to be more actual hair-like and often very curly to heavily wavy and requires grooming every 6-9 weeks.
In the many years, I’ve been blessed to breed Bernedoodles, I truly do not see much disparity in personality between the generations, and I can fairly confidently recommend you choose your newest family member based on your shedding & color preferences, with the assuredness that I am working MY hardest to create outstanding personalities, mental balance, and confidence.
